Meet Mrs. Joanne Vamosi

We asked our teachers & staff a few questions so that you can get to know them better!

What is your role at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic School?
3rd Grade Teacher

What year did you start working at St. Stephen?
1995

Tell us about your education background & about your teaching/work experience.
I graduated from Saint Mary College in Leavenworth, KS (now called University of Saint Mary). I taught seventh and eighth graders at St. Bernard's for five years before staying home with children and doing substitute teaching for eleven years. I began teaching full time at S.S.M. in 1995. I was one of the first two inhabitants of the "South Portable". I was out there for two years and then came into the building and was located upstairs in room 218 for four years. The addition to the school was completed while I was up there. When the space was needed for more middle school classrooms, two third grade classrooms were put downstairs and I have been in room 113 for the last twenty years. This year I begin my twenty-first year in my little corner of the building!
