Meet Mrs. Ashley Hoff

We asked our teachers & staff a few questions so that you can get to know them better!

What is your role at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic School?
Transitional Kindergarten Teacher

What year did you start working at St. Stephen?
2019

Tell us about your experience in education:

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction. My teaching career began in 2008 and I have taught PreK up to 6th grade, in both public and parochial schools.

What do you love most about the St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic School community?

I love that our school is more than just a school- it’s a community. It’s common to see our students and their families outside of the classroom: at Mass, sporting events, or parish activities. I think this allows us to get to connect with each other on a more personal level, and truly makes our school feel like a family!

What piece of advice would you give parents to help their child(ren) succeed at St. Stephen?
There are many great opportunities for parents to become more involved in our school and/or parish, such as volunteering in the classroom, enrolling your child in youth sports, or joining a parish group. These are excellent ways to feel more connected with the other amazing families and staff in our SSM community!

What, in your experience, is the best part about teaching at a Catholic school?

I love that my job allows me to be a vessel of God’s love and share my faith with my students each day.

Tell us about your family (spouse, children, grandchildren, pets, etc.):
My husband, Keith, and I have four wonderful kiddos: Wyatt, Avery, Nolan, and Ryder. They keep us busy and make life a whole lot of fun!

Who is your favorite Saint or what is your favorite scripture?
Romans 5:3-5. “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”

What is your favorite sweet or salty treat?
I love ice cream and popcorn!

What is your favorite coffee/drink order?
A good, strong cup of coffee is a daily go-to for me!
