What year did you start volunteering at St. Stephen?
2022

Tell us about your education background & about your teaching/work experience.
I taught and coached for 38 years in Scribner, Louisville and Papillion. I have a BA in Education, Physical Education and Psychology and MA in K-12 Administration and Guidance and Counseling. I have served as a PE teacher, K-12 Guidance counselor, PreK-6 principal, Middle School/High School Principal and coached several sports.

What do you love about your volunteer role?
Working with the students and seeing their growth. I especially enjoy the AHA look on their face when they “get” something.

Who is your favorite Saint or what is your favorite scripture?
First Corinthians 13

Tell us about your family (spouse, children, grandchildren, pets, etc.):
I have two sons, Shawn and Chris. Chris is married to Lizzy and they have three children, Bella, Addison, and Mason and a fourth on the way.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I come from a family of teachers so that was always a possibility. I also considered being a pediatrician.

What is your favorite sweet treat?
Brownies or M&M’s

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I enjoy recognizing people for the things they do. I write thank you notes and notes of recognition on a regular basis. I also love puzzles, especially jigsaw puzzles.

What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
Follow sports – NE volleyball, football and basketball and Creighton volleyball and basketball. I also love spending time with my grandkids and being outside.

What piece of advice would you give parents to help their child(ren) succeed at St. Stephen?
Celebrate the little things. Give them your full attention when you have time with them.
