Meet Mrs. Ruth Ferrante

What year did you start working at St. Stephen?

Tell us about your education background & about your teaching/work experience.
Education: B.S. in Education, Creighton University, 2007

Work History: I was a full time teacher in Bellevue Public Schools from 2008 to 2015. I then took a break to stay at home with my children and returned to teaching when both my daughters became full time students here at St. Stephen the Martyr

What do you love about your job?
The children of course! I love getting to know all of my students and help them grow in confidence and discover the wonderful gifts God has given them.

Who is your favorite Saint or what is your favorite scripture?
I love St. Michael and the prayer to St. Michael, I know I can always turn to him on a troubled day.

Tell us about your family (spouse, children, grandchildren, pets, etc.):
I have a husband Chris and two daughters Felicity and Natalie. Felicity is a freshmen at Skutt Catholic this year and Natalie is a first grader here at SSM. We also have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An Archaeologist

What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
I like to go to my children’s activities. We also spend time with our local extended family and friends and get recharged for the upcoming week.

What piece of advice would you give parents to help their child(ren) succeed at St. Stephen?
Get involved! There is so much to get into and so many wonderful people to get to know and make lifetime memories with.
