What year did you start working at St. Stephen?
This is my 11th year at SSM.

Tell us about your education background & about your teaching/work experience.
Education: BS in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood endorsement

Work History: I have taught Preschool for 27 years, including at St. Stephen the Martyr, St. Wenceslaus, and the Gingerbread House. I also taught 1st grade at Millard Public Schools.

What do you love about your job?
I love spending my days with the kids and the families! I love sharing my faith, watching the kids grow, and forming relationships with my families and co-teachers.

Who is your favorite Saint or what is your favorite scripture?
My favorite saint is Saint Michael the Archangel. I believe that he is my protector and Guardian Angel and is always at my side.

Tell us about your family (spouse, children, grandchildren, pets, etc.):
I have been married to my husband, Mark, for 31 years. We have 2 sons, Brian (age 30) and Justin (age 28). Brian is married to Andrea who is a 6th grade teacher. We also have 2 cute little dogs, Cookie and Teddy.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I have always wanted to be a teacher!

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I love dance, taking walks, coloring, and doing puzzles.

What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
I love taking walks with my family and dogs and having my family over for Sunday dinner.

What piece of advice would you give parents to help their child(ren) succeed at St. Stephen?
To be successful at St. Stephen and throughout life, parents should do their best to demonstrate and encourage a love of God and belief in our Catholic faith. By following God and having a strong faith foundation, children will be empowered to face all of life’s challenges and be virtuous, successful, productive, happy adults.
