Meet Mrs. Carrie Gentile

What is your role at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic School?
Preschool (3-Day) Teacher

What year did you start working at St. Stephen?
I started teaching Preschool at St. Stephen in 2000.  I moved and returned in 2021.  This will be my 12th year at SSM.

Tell us about your educational background & about your teaching/work experience.
I have taught Preschool for 28 years including St. Stephen’s, St. Wenceslaus, and the Gingerbread House.  I also taught 1st grade with the Millard Public Schools.

What do you love about your job?
I love spending my days with the students and families!  I love sharing my faith, watching the kids grow, and building relationships within the community.

Who is your favorite Saint or what is your favorite scripture?
My favorite saint is Saint Michael the Archangel. I believe that he is my protector and Guardian Angel and is always at my side.

Tell us about your family (spouse, children, grandchildren, pets, etc.):
I have been married to my husband for 32 years. We have 2 adult sons and a daughter-in-law. We also have 2 cute little dogs, Cookie and Teddy.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I have always wanted to be a teacher!

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
My hobbies include taking walks, doing crafts, baking, and putting puzzles together ~ no real talents.:)

What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
Shopping, taking walks, and spending time with my family.

What piece of advice would you give parents to help their child(ren) succeed at St. Stephen?
Get involved in the school and the parish. Remember that we are a team! We want to partner with you to make your child’s and family’s experience here at St. Stephen’s the very best it can be!
