What year did you start working at St. Stephen?
2023

Tell us about your education background & about your teaching/work experience.
All my educational degrees hail from the University of Nebraska-Omaha (Go Mavs!); I earned my two Bachelor’s Degrees in Family Science (2001) and Elementary Education (2007). I also earned my Master’s of Education in Literary Science (2017). I have taught (mostly first grade) in Ogallala and Omaha, NE. This will be my fifteen year in education. I have also been a paraeducator in Elkhorn, NE and Parker, KS.

What do you love about your job?
Something I love about my job is seeing the growth of students in one year’s time!

Who is your favorite Saint or what is your favorite scripture?
Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6:18

Tell us about your family (spouse, children, grandchildren, pets, etc.):
I have been married to my husband Paul for twelve years. I have three step-daughters: Amber (22), Julia (20), and Mariah (18). We live outside of Springfield on family acreage. My family has blossoming produce business and sells at the Papillion, Aksarben, and Downtown Omaha Farmers Markets. We also live with our cats: Sadie, Zebie, Poshie, and Fiona. We also have a rainbow gecko (Mr. Santos) and betta fish (Midnight).

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to study life in the ocean as a marine biologist! Dolphins and sharks are my favorite animals!

What is your favorite sweet treat?
I love Zebra Brownies and Dark Chocolate!!

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I enjoy reading and watching movies! I also love cooking and baking.

What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
I love reading books, trying new restaurants, hanging with family and friends, and traveling to new places.

What piece of advice would you give parents to help their child(ren) succeed at St. Stephen?
Please read and spend time exploring together! Take time to enjoy each other and be present!
